TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Terms and Conditions — Hazel's Copper

Last updated: 17 October 2026

These Terms and Conditions apply to all purchases made through the website of Hazel's Copper.

1. Applicability

By placing an order through our website, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. We reserve the right to update these terms at any time without prior notice.

In these Terms and Conditions, “the entrepreneur” means Hazel's Copper and “the customer” means the person who places an order. These general terms and conditions apply to every offer by the entrepreneur and every concluded distance contract. Before the agreement is finalized, the terms are made available electronically or otherwise.

2. Product Information

We make every effort to display our products, materials, and colors as accurately as possible. However, actual colors and finishes may vary slightly due to individual screen and monitor settings. As our pieces are handcrafted from 99.9% pure solid copper, minor natural variations in texture or finish between individual items are normal and are not considered defects. Minor typographical errors or inaccuracies are reserved. Product images are for illustrative purposes only.

3. Ordering and Payment

The offer clearly specifies total costs, including shipping fees, customs duties, and any additional charges collected by the postal or courier service.

Orders are officially confirmed once full payment has been successfully received. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Shop Pay. Available payment methods are securely displayed at checkout.

4. Processing and Delivery

  • Processing time: 2–3 business days.
  • Estimated delivery time: 10–20 business days, depending on your location within Australia.
  • Fulfilment: Orders are fulfilled by our trusted international partners and shipped directly to the address you provide.
  • Shipping costs: Free shipping applies to orders over $50 AUD. A flat rate of $7.50 AUD applies to orders under $50 AUD.
  • Import terms: Orders are shipped under terms that make the customer the recipient and responsible party for any import-related processes. The entrepreneur ensures that products are dispatched in compliance with international shipping regulations but bears no responsibility for delays or issues arising during customs clearance. Any failure by the customer to comply with import obligations does not constitute grounds for cancellation or refund of the order.
  • Delays: Delivery may occasionally be delayed during peak holiday seasons, severe weather, courier volume constraints, or customs processing.

5. Returns, Cancellations, and Refunds

We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. Our return window is a 30-day money-back guarantee from the date of delivery.

  • Return Process: To initiate a return, customers must first contact our customer support team at info@hazelscopper.com to receive the correct return instructions and authorization.
  • Return Costs: Return shipping costs are the customer's responsibility, unless the item arrived faulty or incorrect. We recommend using a trackable shipping method, as we cannot issue refunds for items lost in transit.
  • Condition: Returned items must be unworn and in their original packaging, with proof of purchase provided.

6. Product Claims & Intended Use

Hazel's Copper products are sold as handcrafted jewellery items. Any references on our website, in advertising, or in customer testimonials to the wearing of copper — including historical or traditional use, or personal experiences shared by customers in their own words — are provided for informational and cultural interest only. Hazel's Copper does not make, and does not endorse, any claim that our products diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition, or that they affect circulation, pain, energy levels, or sleep. Any such personal testimonials reflect individual customer experience and are not a substitute for professional medical advice.

7. Liability

Hazel's Copper is not liable for loss, theft, or damage during shipping once transit tracking confirms successful delivery to the shipping address provided by the customer. Customers are responsible for ensuring their delivery details are entirely correct at the time of ordering. Address corrections must be reported to our support team within 24 hours of placing the order. Nothing in these terms limits any rights or remedies you may have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded, restricted, or modified by agreement.

8. Customs, Import Duties, and VAT Liability

8.1 All goods offered and sold through this website are shipped under the delivery term Delivered At Place (DAP), formerly known as Delivered Duty Unpaid (DDU), as defined under the Incoterms® 2020, with import duties and taxes unpaid. This means that the customer is solely and fully responsible for all costs and obligations arising from the importation of the goods into the destination country.

8.2 Such obligations include, but are not limited to:

  • (a) payment of import duties, value-added tax (VAT) or goods and services tax (GST), and other taxes or levies applicable at the point of entry;
  • (b) customs clearance costs, including any brokerage, inspection, or handling fees imposed by customs authorities, postal carriers, or courier services; and
  • (c) compliance with local laws, product regulations, restrictions, and required certifications in the country of delivery.

8.3 The seller (referred to as “the entrepreneur”) does not act as the importer of record for any order; the customer acts as the importer. Legal title and responsibility for the goods transfer to the customer upon shipment. The entrepreneur is not liable for any delays, seizures, refusals, or fines arising from the customer’s failure to comply with applicable import laws or settle required fees.

8.4 The entrepreneur provides the necessary commercial documentation for international shipment (including, where required, a pro forma or commercial invoice, product description, and declared value). However, the entrepreneur does not guarantee that the documentation or goods will meet specific regulatory or technical import requirements in the country of destination. The customer is solely responsible for verifying whether the ordered goods are permitted for import, restricted, or require special permits or licenses.

8.5 The customer agrees to indemnify and hold the entrepreneur harmless from any financial consequences, claims, penalties, or charges imposed by customs authorities or third parties as a result of the customer’s non-compliance with applicable import regulations.

8.6 It is strongly advised that customers contact their local customs authority or consult relevant import guidelines prior to placing an order, to avoid any unexpected charges, delays, or refusals at the border.

9. CESOP Compliance

From 2024, payment service providers will register transaction data in the CESOP system (Central Electronic System of Payment Information) as per EU regulations. The entrepreneur complies with these regulations, which may impact the monitoring and reporting of payments.

10. Intellectual Property

All content displayed on this website, including texts, product descriptions, custom graphics, images, and logos, is the exclusive intellectual property of Hazel's Copper and may not be reproduced, copied, or used without our prior written permission.

11. Complaints and Dispute Resolution

Customer satisfaction is our highest priority. Complaints can be submitted in writing via our online contact form or by emailing info@hazelscopper.com. We aim to respond and provide a fair resolution within 5 business days.

12. Applicable Law

These terms and conditions are governed by Dutch law. Disputes will preferably be resolved amicably. If necessary, disputes will be submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands. Nothing in this clause affects your statutory rights as a consumer under the Australian Consumer Law, including your right to bring a claim in your own state or territory.
